Þar sem stereo mastering vinnur úr einu fullunnu skjali gefur stem mastering Sam einstaklingsmiðaða stjórn yfir hópuðum þáttum: kikk, bass, trommu, hljóðgervla, söng og FX. Þetta leyfir leiðréttingar og endurbætur sem einfaldlega eru ekki mögulegar úr stereo-skjali.
