How Online Drum & Bass Mastering Works

Every drum & bass track is approached with the same attention — whether it's destined for Beatport, Spotify or a club soundsystem. Here's how it works.

01

Submit Your Mix

Send your final stereo mix as WAV or AIFF at 24-bit or 32-bit float. Include references and indicate your release destination — streaming, vinyl, or club. No limiting on the mix bus.

02

Mastering Session

D&B mastering starts with the sub and mid-bass relationship — ensuring they are separated and controlled. The breakbeat transients are then addressed, and the full chain is calibrated for loudness at 170+ BPM. High-frequency brightness and stereo width are finalised last.

03

Drum and bass mastering is a specialist skill. The interaction between the sub bass and the mid-bass, the transient precision of the breakbeat, and the overall loudness management all require genre-specific knowledge. The bass needs to be felt on a club sub, but the breakbeat needs to cut through without becoming harsh. Getting both right in the same master is the challenge.

Sam has mastered drum and bass, jungle and breakbeat material across a catalogue that spans label releases and independent artists. The approach to D&B mastering is always frequency-first — understanding exactly what the sub and bass are doing before anything else is touched, and building the chain from the bottom up.

Online sessions available worldwide. Submit your mix and receive a full-resolution master ready for release.
